Murder for a chain

The recent murder of a 19 year old Chennai student, Anitha Shoran, was atrocious. Anitha was found murdered in her adyar house with slit throat. The culprit, K. Raj Prabhu, who hailed from Sivaganga district had gone to Anitha's house to commit petty thief. In the end, all that was stolen were a gold chain and anitha's life.

I lack capactiy to comprehend human's behavior. Can cupidity lead to such destructiveness or self-destructiveness (in prabhu's case)? Multifarious human brain which amazes me many a times, ceases to function sometimes at the right moment. There were two things that can be taken home from this: (i) Educate your children to function aptly, god forbidden! if such situations arise. We should not think or act like super heros if the situation does not demand one out of us. A few petty things would never complement for a lost life; (ii) Killing a human being is absymal bottom of human virtues. Both avarice and desperateness to survive by destruction should be frowned upon.
